Hello there! My name is Jazeen Hollings, a Canadian writer, director and editor from Toronto.
I was the Quarterfinalist Winner of the 2017 Screencraft Short Screenplay Competition. My arthouse short film “Within the Silence” screened at festivals including the Toronto Independent Film Festival. I have 2 feature screenplays currently in development. I’m also a film reviewer and entertainment journalist for Faze Magazine, Canada’s top magazine for teenage girls and young women.
Some of my corporate work includes video editing for New York Times social media, hit Youtube channel How to Cake It starring phenomenal baker Yolanda Gampp, long format educational seminars for OCAD University and theatre trailers for Women In Film and Television Toronto. I’ve worked with ad agencies and production houses on larger scale projects for broadcast as well as range of artists, authors, musicians, comedians and small business owners on smaller ones.
Side Note: I love experimenting with film cameras. I’ve gotten quite good at loading 8mm film in pitch black darkness. Whenever I’m feeling too comfortable I get on stage and perform stand-up comedy. I also co-produce a wicked monthly open mic. Other hobbies include co-hosting a podcast about movies and playing the piano.
